Author Talk in Powassan, Ontario

I will be hitting the road to the Powassan and District Union Library in two weeks for an author talk. Powassan is a town of about 3,500 people located a half hour south of North Bay. When I visited the library in July to donate a copy of Seasoned: A Memoir of Grief and Grace, the librarian  invited me to return for this author talk. The event will take place at the library, 324 Clark Street, on Thursday evening, September 13 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. For those living in the Powassan and North Bay area, please spread the word–tell your friends, post on social media, send the link to this website! And thanks!

“Telling Our Stories”

The theme of this presentation is “Telling Our Stories.” I’m planning this event to be a conversation about the healing power of sharing our stories with others. I will summarize my own healing journey with a few readings from my memoir, and talk about the friendships, support and moments of grace that allowed me to bring my story out into the open. My hope is that sharing my own personal story of death, grief, healing, and recovery, might serve as a catalyst for others to consider opening up to their own stories of loss.
